On Friday, March 29 President Sergio Mattarella signed the law about creating a parliamentary commission which will hold inquiry of Italy’s banking sector.
The commission is set to look into a series of banking crises in recent years.
The Bank of Italy has been criticized for allegedly failing to have prevented the crises with its oversight activities.
